OOIOO – 2007-03-23
March 27th, 2007I wasn’t planning on going to this show but John from Live Eye TV asked me if I would record audio for him.
So I went and it was a fun time. The opening acts were less than good but they were interesting nonetheless. I’d never heard OOIOO before this show but they really impressed me. Very cool proggy pop music.

Thanks for this one!
sbd matrix should be cool. I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet (it’s still downloading) but, as usual, the sample sounds great!
Who were the “less than good but interesting nonetheless†opening acts?
March 29th, 2007 at 10:52 AM
A collaboration of Kinski, Master Musicians of Bukkake, and Climax Golden Twins called “Kinski’s Bukkake Climax” and another band called Eyvind Kang (ed: woops, typo). I can put them up if anyone is interested.

I’m interested!
I thought OOi was a little off that night…..

BTW :
name is Eyvind Kang, he’s a string player(cello/violin) of Icelandic heritage, educated at Cornish Institute there in Seattle under the fantastic Michael White (played with Alice Coltrane/Sun Ra, et al) EK toured last year with the Secret Cheifs, and has also played with Bill Frisell, Beck, Mr Bungle, John Zorn, et al…..
these guys not “indy rock” at all, so it’s understandable that they’re an “acquired taste”.

Woops yeah, major typo on my part.
I guess I can’t say that they were terrible. I don’t think many bands I see are particularly “bad”, I just didn’t enjoy them. I enjoy plenty of weird-as-hell off-the-wall music, but these guys were not my thing.

yeah, put em up, if you got the time, I’ve heard a lot of EK and Kinski and would really like to hear what they’re up to these days.

Ok, I’ll see if I can matrix those tonight. Or maybe if I’m extremely lazy, I’ll just post the AUD sources. Busy busy busy.

thanks, Brian —–whenever you get the time, this would be appreciated.
See you at the WoW for “spodies?
April 6th, 2007 at 11:39 AM
SPODIES!
Yeah I’ll be there for sure. That’s the first night of a five night run of exploding things going on in the heavens.

Spoodies!
Yeah, can you u/l these other ones, please!
