I was just looking at Fleet Foxes’ discography and their first EP didn’t even come out until the fall of 2006. Good eye… this is fairly early in their career.

I played a five show mini-tour in the midwest opening for Iron & Wine around this time. I think it was in June of 2008. We started at 1st Avenue in Minnesota (Venue seen in Purple Rain), and ended at The Pageant in St. Louis. In St. Louis we ran into the guys from Sigur Ros on the street. They were on their way to play Bonnaroo and stopped in St. Louis to get a tattoo. We convinced them to come to our show and hang out back stage before and after the show. It was a terrific tour.

I had not heard this band before. They’re good. The visual element was not too interesting to me, so I dual-purposed my computer and looked at some pictures of girls while listening. The music distracted me from the girls, which is definitely a good sign.
